A simple sudoku solver

Sudoku puzzles can now be found in most newspapers and magazines and many best selling puzzle books.

Sudokudoze is a small Windows program that can be used off-line to solve these puzzles. It can used as scratchpad for you to solve the problem, or as an assistant and learning aid.

Quickly enter the puzzle with a few mouse clicks, and then solve it by yourself or with assistance or automatically. Will solve the most 'Fiendish' puzzle. Save the puzzle and save at any step. See or hide your options at every stage.

Easy to experiment, a great tool for learning how to solve Sudoku. This is a small & simple application that does not require any installation and will not change your computers settings.

To Use:

Double click on each cell to enter the puzzle then press <Save Puzzle> if you want to get back to it. Then you can Double click on a cell to enter your solution. Only valid numbers can be selected (not in row, column or box). But, be warned a valid number may not be the correct one for this puzzle!

If you need help, press <Show Opts>. If still stuck <Step> will fill a few cells. Use <Save> and <Restore> to go back and forward between any changes. <Solve> will show a complete solution. Use <Save> to remember a puzzle between sessions.

<Save Puzzle> stores the current grid in a file in the same dir as sudokudoze.exe called puzzle.sdd. <Save> stores in saved.sdd and this is used when you start the program. You can manipulate these files as you wish to save old puzzles etc (I said it was simple).

To Install:

Simply download sudokudoze.exe and store in the directory of your choice. It does not modify any of your settings or modify your registry. To uninstall, delete it.

Viruses:

sudokudoze.exe has been scanned using the latest scanner. For your peace of mind, it is suggested that you also scan this file after download.
